OUR IMAGINING YOUR FUTURE STUDENTS AND MENTORS GET STARTED! |

(Graphic chosen by students in the program) |
The start of a new school year marks a new beginning for our third year of supporting students at Herndon High School. Immediately after school started, students selected for our Imagining Your Future program*** had the opportunity to meet new mentors and learn about:
-
-
-
One-on-one mentoring;
-
A Career Exploration and Readiness Curriculum, developed and led by Harraseeket Foundation’s Project Director, Leslie Speidel. The Curriculum follows what we’re calling a five-part “Student Roadmap.” Each student will develop a career profile; engage in career pathways research; set goals and actions steps; learn networking and communication skills; and develop a resume.
-
Learning from employers.
It won’t be all work! Our first meeting also involved beach balls, uncooked spaghetti, marshmallows and painter’s tape.

Jim Seevers of Harraseeket Foundation and Stephanie Stewart of Herndon High School discuss plans for the coming year with some of the students and mentors. Leslie Speidel of Harraseeket Foundation is standing to the left. |
THE STUDENTS NEED YOUR SUPPORT |
We expect to expand the program over the course of the year, so we need more mentors, more employer involvement, and more volunteers. |
Your donations will also support these students, and will help us reach more students. Our donors help all of us make a difference in their lives! Please consider making a donation TODAY! |
***Issue 23 of Signposts, linked here, discusses how we selected the students. Back issues of Signposts are on this page of our website. |
