This is Issue #31 (September 15, 2025) of Signposts, the newsletter for friends of The Harraseeket Foundation (pronounced "hair-a-SEEK-it"), a Northern Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit. See www.harraseeketfoundation.org. Also check out back issues of Signpost!

Students are facing a crisis. Our Imagining Your Future (IYF) program is a solution.

Too many students suffer from:

  • Inadequate access to nonjudgmental, caring adults who are invested in their future

  • Alarming information gaps about post-high school education, training and careers

  • Obstacles to workplace learning experiences that open their eyes to opportunities they haven’t considered

For the last five years, the Harraseeket Foundation’s Imagining Your Future (IYF) program has responded – and changed lives

We invite you to watch this 2 minute video from an IYF student, 5 years after he participated:

IYF will change lives in YOUR organization.

Imagining Your Future has supported scores of students – one at a time and in small groups – in faith communities, schools, and nonprofits. And we’re excited to take IYF into the classroom this year! See Issue #31 of Signposts.

For example, this summer, Harraseeket Foundation’s Leslie Speidel and Tiffany Park (a sophomore in college) led a group of high school students from diverse backgrounds through a two-day IYF workshop organized by our partner Youthcast Media Group (YMG).

"I liked how we got almost private mentors for making our resume. And I liked how we got these skills that can help us later in life!"

Leslie and Tiffany worked with YMG students to help them identify their aspirations and goals, detail next steps for finding opportunities, craft their resumes, and practice their elevator pitches (including a firm handshake and a smile!). Over the two days, they watched students gain confidence and become actively engaged.

"I think this workshop was amazing! It taught me so much and improved my resume, making it more clear & concise. It also helped me figure out how to introduce myself, which is something I struggled with."
