SPOTLIGHT ON A VOLUNTEER IN OUR IMAGINING YOUR FUTURE PROGRAM |
"It’s a great feeling when I see a bit of a spark in a student’s eyes when they discover something new about themselves."
For Audrey, this moment of self-discovery is what makes volunteering with the Imagining Your Future (IYF) program so meaningful. |
Audrey volunteers with the Imagining Your Future (IYF) program because she believes not every student has someone to help them navigate decisions about the future. IYF offers her the chance to be part of providing that support. She enjoys talking with students about their interests and helping them explore possibilities they may not have considered before.
Audrey has played an important role in supporting students across many IYF activities. She's moderated student conversations during career panels and worked one-on-one with students during workshops when extra support was needed. Audrey has a great instinct for reading the room—she leans in when something is going well and helps pivot when an activity isn’t connecting with students.
She has also helped new volunteers learn how to connect with students and feel comfortable in the program, strengthening the experience for everyone involved. Her consistent presence helps build trust and rapport with students over time, which is incredibly valuable in a program like ours. |
